Many months ago, I routinely went to tp-link downloads to obtain what I thought was firmware upgrade for Archer C7-V2. Paid no attention to regional differences in firmware, downloaded a EU version rather than US (unbeknownst to me at the time), and it installed smoothly
So, now of course I can't installed US firmware upgrades because of Error 18005/wrong version, and this particular EU version (3.15.1 Build 160616 Rel.44182n) has CE certification and can't be downgraded to other versions. Big Question: how do I at least roll back firmware to orig. factory
specs. and move on from there?

Thanks for the heads-up...after posting original query, I found a super YouTube tutorial that takes me through the "unbricking" procedure as outlined in your link, but with more detail on how to use tftp network. Will give it a try.

Good point...I thought about that shortly after posting original question. Note that the tutorial is specific to a C9, but exactly same procedure would be applicable to a C7v2, firmware differences applying, of course.

Check the sidebar and you'll find other contributions by Richard Lloyd, incl. "unbricking" C9 using serial connection. This procedure requires soldering on main board of router, so, not trivial or for the faint-hearted.

Also, one more here, quite abbreviated, for unbricking C7...as always, your mileage may vary.
