Just a little backstory to set things up.

Modem - Arris 6183
Router - Archer C8
Switch - Trendnet 16port Gigabit and Trendnet 8port Gigabit
Cable - Cat5e
ISP - Comcast

My setup 2 years ago, with Comcast 75/5 plan. Everything worked fne, speeds all around was more than advertised. Earlier this year when contract was up, i upgraded to the 200/10 plan. No change in equipment.

Speed at modem shows 240/12, so comcast is delivering and wont help further cause i'm using my equipment.
Wifi speed - 2.4ghz = 58/12. 5ghz = 90/12.
Lan spped = 95/13.

Nat boost on, QoS off.

6 wifi connections (1 5ghz, 5 2.4ghz)
8 lan connections

Mainly wondering if i can change settings to make things better, or do i have to upgrade my router?

Hi Franklin,
Your network topology is a little complicated. It is recommended to plug only one computer to the router via Ethernet cable when testing the speed.
By the way, the wireless speed is normal when the link speed on Wireless Network Connection Status is just Mbps. The actual internet speed will be 1/3-1/2 of the link speed between the computer and router.
If your router's firmware is not the latest, you can also try to upgrade the firmware.

If your C8 is V3, you can have a try to disable NAT boost under System tools-System Parameters.

Thanks for the info.

Firmware Version: 4.0.0 Build 20160517 Rel. 44603

When i tested speed via laptop cable to router, i did unplug all other connections, turned off wifi and tested and got that speed.

I finally got a response from TP Link support, and they suggested i try using a cat6 cable between modem and router. Will try that later this week.

tried both cat6 and cat7 cables...no change.

Time for me to start shopping for a new router...hopefully costco will have some good sales, or black friday sales.

Last resort plan for me is to go back to my old plan, save $10/month, and download speeds werent that far off.

Sorry to hear that. Archer C8 shouldn't have so slow speed. Perhaps TP-Link can provide you another solution.
