I want to start with emphasizing: NOVICE! I'm not stupid but this networking stuff is often beyond me.

I have a Sinology NSA DS214play. I can no longer remote access.

When I try to set up my router in the DSM software (DSM 6.14, most up to date) - the router is not recognized not is in the list. A message "your UnPN router did not pass the compatibility test..." If I try to manual router set up, I don't see anything related to TP-LINK Deco M5 in the router list.

I have no doubt the solution is simple but clearly it isn't for me.

Does anyone have advice to offer?

Thanks in advance!

Do you want to remote access the web interface of your NAS?
If yes, you can open ports manually in the Deco app.
Please refer to the FAQ link below and open port 5000 & 5001 for your NAS.

@tombinghamton I faced the same issue when switch to Deco M4. After rerun Synology Asistant (hit setup again if failed first time) and reset IP address to 192.162.68.1xx as TP Link use default IP address range from 192.162.68.xxx then I am able to reconnect my Synology NAS. Formally the NAS address was fixed to 192.168.0.68:5001 hence it is not visible thru internal network. Hope this help.
