Is it possible to disable the 5Ghz or 2.4Ghz radio? The WISP does not use 5Ghz. Thanks

Yes, log back into the TL-WR902AC and go to either "Wireless 2.4Ghz" or "Wireless 5Ghz" and the first item listed on the main page (not the left menu) will be "Wireless". You can then select "Disable", and then select "Save" on the bottom.

Hi Tony, Sorry, I'm not seeing it. When I go to Wireless 5Ghz or Wireless 2.4Ghz, Basic Settings is what comes up but there is no option to disable radio, just enable/disable SSID. Firmware Version: 0.9.1 0.2 v008a.0 Build 171229 Hardware Version:TL-WR902AC V3 00000001

@billinin You should have the portion I highlighted in red (screenshot)

If you still do not see that, you can uncheck the box of "Enable SSID Broadcast". The wireless network will still be broadcasted, but you will not be able to see it unless you manually configure a wireless device to look specifically for the wireless name.

Hi Tony,

I tried both firmware versions off the tp-link support website, 171229(my original version) and 170826 with the same result. This is a new unit so maybe the current build, as posted above, doesn't offer this capability. It would be nice to restore it as I will be in an enviornment with many broadcasting APs. I will go ahead and disable the SSID broadcasts but as I understand with my limited wifi knowledge this will cause clients to continually "probe" for the AP once they disconnect. Anyway, thank you so much for looking into this.

My screen shot as compared to yours...

@billinin I looked into it further. When I took the screenshot it is when the device is in router mode not WISP like you had it, my apologies. So while in WISP you are not able to disable the Wi-Fi radio, but you can disable the SSID broadcast. So in your situation if you connected the 2.4Ghz to get internet, go over to the 5Ghz, and uncheck the broadcast and save it, that will be it.

If you had any wireless devices connected to the 5Ghz while configuring it or of past use, you would forget the wireless network on that device and it will not try to connect to the 5Ghz. If you never connected to the 5Ghz to begin with, then you don't need to do anything.
