I understand, i was simply offering possible solutions.  What was determined was that this was a specific issue caused by the firmware of the rotuer which is out of our control and puts us at the mercy of Spectrum and their team releasing new firmware.

@Carl Carl, it was tp-link customer service support from Asia they connected to teamviewer.

Thank you.  What you described in your post above was the work around that they have come up with.  We just enageged with the R and D team to confrim this.  I do want to be clear that this is not a fix by any means,  This is simply a work around to use that can resolve the issue unitl Spectrum updates the Firmware that is actually causing the problem.  

 

For a more graphical representation this is what was explained to us:

 

  1. Disable the DHCP Server of the Spectrum router

  1. Set RE450 to static IP address in the same subnet of the router
  2. Enable the DHCPS of RE450 and change the gateway and DNS settings of DHCPS, the gateway and DNS MUST be routers LAN IP address.
