@SBBradford I use a AT&T router. I had trouble linking up to the extender then staying connected. Finally I used the WPS button and now it works perfect and stays connected.

Hi, I am having the same problems with my RE450 and surely would be interested on how you were able to resolve the problem.

@Carl Hi - any fix on this?  Just bought tp-link via amazon - and same issue - I have Spectrum - and have the RAC2V1k router; they will NOT assign any other router - Spectrum is notorious for being difficult about changing routers - and like the other guy here, buying own router is a HUGE risk, rarely if ever works.

I called Spectrum. They gave suggestion to push "WPS" button on back of the router. Did nothing. :(    And they punted to tp-link to figure it out..any solution?  *other than the method you noted before, fyi - interface changed, so might need to redo screen shots on there - no longer a viable option....

So...fixed?  or will just have to return tp-link....

I guess if you Spectrum/Time Warner internet - no go....?

@WhPasa

asside from using your own modem/router no.  We are still waiting for Specturm to resolve the issue with their vendor.

@Carl I found the solution with any WiFi extender

Configure your extender with static ip

same gateway than your spectrum router

same subnet mask

Use spectrum dns

209.18.47.61

209.18.47.62

and here comes the trick
(the static ip for your extender has to be out of the spectrum dhcp range, for example... if the dhcp range is 192.168.1.2 to 192.168.1.100... your static up has to be 192.168.1.102)

and that's it

@Kameron

No nothing yet.  The issue is with Specturm but they have been quite slow to resolve.  I will ask the team for an update and if one is available update this thread.
