Can 2 Decos be too close together and interfere with each other?  15 feet apart?

The Deco units do run on the same channel for the respective wireless band. So there could be interference, but not to where your system is now unusable. 

 

The general recommended distance is 30 feet, but 15 feet should be fine when you take into account of obsticles (walls, doors). 

 

So as far as operation, they can be close and will still operate.
