I have a new deco mesh set up and I'm having this issue:

Everything is working well and fast but as I walk around my house my phone will switch to the 2.4ghz and the speed will be fine but not great.  This is fine if this is what needs to happen but the problem is that it does not switch back to 5ghz.

I need to maintain the 2.4ghz due to some items that require a 2.4ghz network.

Is there anything I can do?

What you can do is enable the guest network, and only have the 5GHz turned on so your phone can always be on the 5GHz Wi-Fi. As far as the main network with it being mesh you can not direct which band the device will be one. As the phone requires more speed then it will be switch by the Deco.
