Hardware Version: V5
Firmware Version: 1.0.11 Build 20190726 Rel. 57101 (5553)

 

This question is for the Archer C7 (wasn't on the drop down list for model - not sure why).  New router, latest firmware but when downloading the Tether app (both to Android and Apple phones) the Tether app does not show the Speed Test function.  Can see on YouTube this test function should be on the app.   Any ideas on how to access the speed test function in the C7 router?  Have looked at the various sections within the router (both basic and advanced) and have not found anything that helps.  Thanks, Chip

The reason why you do not see the speed test feature is that the Archer C7 does not have HomeCare. Routers that do will have that feature like shown below:

@ChipM  Tony, thanks for the input on the C7.   I was under the impression the C7 did handle this so guess I just didn't research it enough.  Thx Chip

The speed test is pretty much the speed test by Ookla that you can grab on your smart phone.

It does not appear so, but you can visit: speedtest.net to test the current speeds.

I'm guessing that the Archer A8 (AC1900) doesn't have it as well. As the app does not show anything related to that, with QOS enabled.

Same for me plus I pay for 20 mb   for speed and I using the basic speed test less than 5 for download and 8 for up load and I pay for 20+
