WiFi issues after firmware upgrade [Archer A6]
WiFi issues after firmware upgrade [Archer A6]
Hello,
After upgrading to the latest firmware my WiFi are having connection issues. 5ghz WiFi speed is slower and ping jumping all over the place. When playing online games ping hikes up significantly every 10 seconds. I rolled back to previous version 1.1.3 and have not experienced any connection issues.I did not notice any difference over wired connection.
Thank you
Router: Archer A6 AC1200 V2
Firmware version: 1.1.4 Build 20190923 rel.63745
ISP: Optimum

Try modifying the wireless channel and width for both bands. For the 2.4Ghz set the width to 40 MHz, and 80 MHz for the 5GHz. With respect to channel try different combinations.

@Tony I'm facing the same issue, after this "upgrade" not only wifi but also wired (fiber) connection loses ~ 40% speed (the solution presented did not work)

What speeds do you get while connected to the modem vs the router?
Within the TP-Link router have you tried disabling NAT Boost (Advanced > System Parameters > NAT Boost).

Hi just curious if there was any more info on this problem?
I have the same issue , with an A6.
1.13 works fine but 1.15 firmware caused me the same issue . Mainly noticed in online gaming .
Ping would spike way yo every 10 seconds or so , making games hang constantly and is unplayable.
I downgraded to 1.13 and problem solved.
I did try adjusting the band width and turning off NAT boost as per earlier instructions and it did not help.

@DZee
i am working via email on this same sort of issue with the 1.1.5 firmware. some devices are no problem, some devices drop packets and ping into the thousands. I ended up running a cat5 wire to my main computer because i couldnt work. i ended up downgrading the firmware and it fixed it but recently upgraded again hoping maybe there had been a fix applied and new firmware released but im back to square 1. i am hoping this can get fixed at some point. did any of you guys find a way to fix the issue other than rolling back firmware? also any idea why some devices have issues but others dont?
