Is the 5Ghz the default for the Backhaul or the 2.4Ghz? Or does it use some calculation on available bandwidth to determine how much of each band is used to spread the Backhaul load?
The two Deco units work dynamically to find the least congested band to transmit data unless they are wired together which they will use the Ethernet backhaul.
For example, if Deco 1 transmits to Deco 2 but finds that the 2.4Ghz signal has interference or is congested, Deco 1 will automatically choose to transmit on the 5Ghz band to send the data. If both units are wired together then data will be transmitted via Ethernet.
@Tony So does that mean that the 2.4Ghz band is the default of the backhaul?
It would be great if there were bandwidth usage logs or some such to assist in trouble shooting, specifically targeting backhaul usage/consumption.
With the Decos, the only if the units are wired will the Ethernet backhaul be default. If being connected via Wi-Fi either band would be used depending on which has the least load.
