Slow network performance on AX50/AX3000
Hello, I just purchased a AX50/AX3000 router and am having a terrible time gettingt the LAN speeds to be good. My other router was a Netgear and I was able to confirm that my WAN/Internet speeds are 500/250 from my ISP. I am getting close to that on wireless when I am right near the router. However, with the AX50 I am only getting 60mbps down and 40mbps up. I've tried everything including mimicking my settings from the Netgear router. Could this be an issue with my devices (iPhone and Macbook Pro) not supporting AX?

I'm already experiencing a lot of slowness, in my case I think it started when my kids started using Google Classroom (2 pc simultaneously), then Wifi doing ZOOM and my doing voice calls. We are literally rebooting this piece of brick twice 3 times a day, 7am, 12 and 3pm. the only way to keep up.
maybe we all should post the comments in AMAZON.COM so other people know about this issues before they buy.

@J_M_B I can confirm this fix, i just bought an AX50 this week, had great signal, then i enabled the high priority on a device and got weak signal, once I disabled it everything's normal.

How did you disabled it? Just by making sure there are no devices with high priority and setting the profile to standard?
Or did you do a factory reset ??

That is the reason why in this thread many people refused to use the Tether App after a Factory Reset to solve their issues. Today I returned the product, I am very dissapointed about TP-Link, I am planning to buy an "USB 3.0 to Ethernet adapter" and I don't know if I should trust in any TP-Link's option...
Hi people, just for you to know, yesterday I bought the little brother TP-Link Archer AX20 and it works flawless with or without using QoS...max speed with the basic configuration and by activating QoS with device priority.

I just got an AX50 and am not getting WiFi speeds higher than 250mbps when I'm 6 feet away from the router. I have CenturyLink Gigabit Fiber, and the AX50 is configured appropriately (PPoE, VLAN tagging). Based on this thread, I haven't used the Tether app, and QoS is "off" (i.e. set to standard). Any tips here?
Also, are you not able to use NAT boost with the AX50? I'm not finding a setting for it in System Tools > System Parameters > NAT.

So, I am the proud owner of a new AX3000. I was super happy for a couple of hours. My Wifi speeds went to 300-400mbps in some spots. 200 in a spot where I bearly had any wifi with my provider router.
My LAN speeds were also high as they should have been. ~930 mbps.
This morning ... 70 - 90mbps.
So I started to trace my steps:
1. Updated firmware to 1.0.9 Build 20200708 rel.55037.
2. I added my PC to QoS to high priority.
Guess which was the problem? The QoS. I disabled QoS and restarted the routher and now I'm having 930 mbps again.
So QoS is STILL bugged.
This has nothing to do with Teather. I'm configuring my routher trough the IP (192.168.0.1). It's because QoS.
Pretty disapointed with my purchase. It's good I don't really need QoS as I am the only heavy trafic user.

So, it's all but been officially confirmed that the "Priority" and "QoS" Features cripple this router series (Archer Series: AX10, AX20 AX50, AX3000, AX6000, and AX11000) so they need to be fixed. I don't know if this bug also exists in the latest updates in the A series (Archer Series: A7, A9)

@Lonk there is no issue with "Priority" and "QoS" on the AX20 model, see my previous comment...

I have created an account just for this issue. I needed a new router with support for WiFi 6 so I bought this one last week, the AX50. It came with firmware 1.0.9 pre-loaded but it seems this router is still very buggy. I pay for 500 down/up and everything worked fine when I did the quick setup. However, over the weekend I looked into the other settings on this router and I started noticing my speeds essentially were getting limited to roughly ~260 Mbps. It didn't matter which device I used to run a speed test. It seems even touching the QoS settings or using the Tether app will create an artificial bottleneck somewhere in your router.
I did a factory reset and everything went back to normal. As far as I know:
- Do NOT use the Tether app EVER
- Set up your router using the webpage at http://192.168.0.1/
- Do NOT go to the QoS settings on your router
- Do NOT mess with the security/antivirus settings
- Do NOT enable the traffic monitor
I ran the quick setup, changed the DNS settings, manually set the WiFi to the fastest channel and disabled WPS. Everything is working fine right now, I won't dare and go into the QoS settings again. Even being on the page seems to mess your router up and requiring you to do a factory reset to get full performance back.
If you have a fast internet connection (300+ Mbps), don't bother getting this router as you won't be able to make full use of it. Even though everything is working fine now, I will be returning the router later this week and picking one from a different brand. I paid good money for this thing and who knows what kind of bugs will pop up in the future. The fact that this thread has been open for almost a year now without any proper solution from TP-Link says enough.
Good luck to everyone outside of their return window. I'm sorry you got scammed with this buggy router. Hopefully some time in the near future someone will port a custom firmware to this thing, although I doubt this will happen with the Intel chip inside.
