Model: Archer AX1500
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.0.2 Build 20190809 Rel. 28188(5553)

I am trying to setup ad blocking for network. Using PiHole. And every time I try and set the DNS on the router. The router changes the LAN IP.

@MrAndyGets

The issue is that you are trying to reference a private IP in the internet section of the DNS, that will not work. It will force the router to change its lan IP to something like 192.168.1.1 in order to avoid conflict, there is no way around that.

Go to the DHCP server section that I mentioned before, there you will be able to reference a LAN IP address which is your pihole and that will not change the LAN IP of the router.

Are you changing the DNS in the Advanced > Network > DHCP Server?

@Tony I swear its this AX1500 that is the issue. I had an older router, that I had pihole on and I had no issues.. I have tried installing pihole 100 times. And I followed the instructions to a T.  This router just does not like me.
