P9 Firmware And Enhancements Soon?
P9 Firmware And Enhancements Soon?
Just inquiring on when the P9 will receive a firnware update that will add more features. I myself own the M5 (awesome setup with wired backhaul) and installed the P9 at a friend's much bigger/newer house because of the power line backhaul features (and manager it for him) and I am shocked at how the P9 is a newer system yet lacks so many options within the app that my much older M5 has. I am specifically looking to see if the power line backhaul is working at all and it was said months ago that a FW update would bring this to the app and here I am still running one from September of 2019.
Thanks for any feedback.

Lost like support in terms of firmware upgrades are lacking big time. I have the M9 which should have the same features as the M5 via the app by now. I'm doing like others and returning my set to Costco.

Got my 3 pack of Deco P9's from Amazon yesterday and have Frimware Version 1.0.4 Build 20191117 Rel. 66543.
I'm seeing the same issues as described elsewhere on these forums with ever decreasing drops in bandwidth the further away from the master unit I get.
Now looking at Devolo given how long this issue has been running for without resolution. Wish i had researched this a bit more before purchasing...

Now I want to know why CrazyColin's purchase got firmware 1.0.4 whereas as my P9, purchased 5 weeks ago, is stuck with 1.0.1, and the Android updater tells me I have the latest firmware!
It's also irritating that I purchased it almost 4 months after the release date of the firmware on CrazyColin's P9.

Have a look a the tread https://community.tp-link.com/en/business/forum/topic/187546?page=2
A beta release is out, application is via CLI tool supported on Windows / OSX and once you run it against your Deco you will be on 1.0.2 Build 20200115 Rel. 04683.
You then get a WebUI which is starting to look promising and telnet is added so you can get in and see what is happening under the covers - appears to be a customised version of OpenWRT running.

@GrahamPat I am using https://192.168.68.1 or https://tplinkdeco.net/ if you have the primary deco set as a DNS server.
I discovered this was available by running nmap aganst its address and finding 443/https as well as 23/telnet now being available from the upgraded Decos vs the un-upgraded which did not have these ports open.
