That is because ADSL2 products have not be sold in the US for quite some time. What is your Question? We will do the best we can to assist here or if you are not in the US you can post your questions at community.tp-link.com/en. This is our seperate global community that assist customer who are not in the US.

@Carl
Oh great. A dead product line. Just my luck. Thank you fo the reply.
I can't get cable here where I live and am on the last of ATTs DSL service. I'm replacing the POS they sold me with a TP-Link TD-8616 ADSL2+ modem. When I go to the admin page 192.168.1.1 there is no "Quick Start" to run the set up wizard and no place to initailly configure it. IS there a better dierct path?

No worries, a few things you need to know. Your PPPoE username and Password. the VPI and VCI channels that your provider is using and the encapsulation the ISP uses. Then just follow these steps:
1. Log in 192.168.1.1
2. Click on Basic setup
3. Choose the Virtual circuit with the correct VPI and VCI settings.
4. Choose the proper encapsulation type.
From there the modem is ready to use. You are likely using a router to the modem so with that you would just choose WAN type as PPPoE and then input your login credentials to build the connection.
After that you should be online.

@Carl Ok, so I don't need to set the DSL credentials (user name and newwork pw) in the modem, but do it through the router instead?
I don't know what "VPI and VCI channels that your provider is using and the encapsulation the ISP uses" as I've never been asked for that before. Where do I find that info?

@Carl SO I googled the settings and here's what I found.
AT&T (1) 0 35 PPPoE LLC
AT&T (2) 8 35 1483 Bridged IP LLC
AT&T (3) 0 35 1483 Bridged IP LLC
The modem doesn't have "PPPoE LLC" as an option and it's set for #3. I just saw that I misread #2 so am going to try that right now. Why is it my luck that plug andf play never is? lol

And when I try to set it to "8 and 35" I get this... Error Information: ERROR: FAIL TO UPDATE DUE TO... Duplicate VPI and VCI.
It turns out 8 is only for certain states. I am going to try the prior settings then hook my router up and go from there.

For ATT based on the region the VPI and VCI will be different. That error you got simply refers to a Virtual Circuit with those settings already exist. Just change the VC to find the correct one with those settings.

@Carl So this is what I have now
Those are the ATT settings for my region as far as I know. There is no option here for "AT&T (1) 0 35 PPPoE LLC" which is the only other one it could be.
When I hook up my TP-link Archer C1200 and go through the reset up (I have been using it with the ATT provided POS Netgear as a WiFi router with dynamix IP. Long story), set it to PPoE, input my ATT credentials, and save it, the internet light on the router turns green and the internet light on the modem starts flashing faster but when I go on line, I trigger the ATT configuration page and it says the modem or gateway isn't confiugured properly but can't tell me why. Any clues?

It's been quite a while but i believe that means the modem isn't "Provisioned" for the service. I think all you need to do is give ATT a call and have them "add" the modem to their account.
