Current firmware, the Archer 7s and Archer 9s Reset Their "Friendly Name" in the Tether app
I name my A7 and A9 routers for my entire family, and their friendly nicknames I put in reset to either Archer_A7 or Archer_A9, the older firmwares did not have this bug.

When are you noticing the names reverting or how long until it does that?
Once the name reverst in the App, have you logged into the actual router, what does it show there?
Do you only rename the router in the Tether app?

@Tony Confirmed: Reverts Friendly Name in Tether iOS App to model name WHENEVER a router updates it's firmware. Still checking if there are other causes.

@JoelS Revert on update firmware only appears to happen on Archer A9s.

Thank you for the information so far the A9s are reverting, and the A7s seem to be holding the custom names now?

@Tony I just downloaded the latest firmware for both the A7 and the A9. There are no release notes on your site for the A9's FW 1.0.5 or 1.0.6 so I don't know what changed since I was on 1.0.4. That might need to be updated on your support site.
Either way, now that I have 1.0.6 on all Archer A9s and 1.0.14 on all Archer A7s; we'll see if either firmware changes it's name. I have confirmed that updating the A7s from 1.0.13 to 1.0.14 maintains the friendly name. But upgrading the Archer A9 from 1.0.4 to 1.0.6 DOES remove the friendly name from the Tether app.
I'm going to keep testing and will let you know when A9's 1.0.7 upgrade comes out to see if it reverts / overwrites the friendly name again. Thank you for your quick response.

Have you had a chance to roll back the latest firmware of the A9, does the name still change?
