Model: Archer A10
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 2.0.3

I have a primary router upstairs and have enabled a second router downstairs in bridge mode. I now have 2 SSID's that I could log into and I don't really understand if bridge mode is boosting the SSID of the primary or if I need to log into the extended router.

If i am downstairs should I log into the SSID of the extended router or still log into the SSID of the primary router?

@MattRVA

If you do not have a Ethernet cable going from one router to the other then the second router then it is using the Wi-Fi of the main router to get internet and broadcasting its own Wi-Fi also known as WDS Bridging.

I would recommend connecting to which ever device is physically closer to you.

@Tony Thank you for your reply. I've now been reading about powerline adapters, a new concept to me, and clearly I've alot to learn in setting up a network in my home. Thanks
