Model: TL-WA901ND
Hardware Version: V4
Firmware Version: 3.16.9 Build 150408 Rel.38268n

hello,

I am trying to upgrade my TP WA901ND v4 access point firmware.

And I keep getting this error:

Error code: 18001  Upgrade unsuccessfully because the length of the upgraded file is incorrect. Please check the file name.

The firmware file I am trying to load is "wa901ndv4_us_3_16_9_flash(151102).bin"

and I am in the US, so I believe I have to correct firmware version.

appreciate any help correcting this.

If you look below the AP unit, what does the sticker label show as far as the hardware version and the country code? The country code will be in parenthesis such as (US) or (EU).

@Tony Hi Tony, thanks for getting back to me.

This specific AP has no country listed on the back of it.

it just lists the model and ver.

"Model: TL-WA901ND     Ver:4.0"

I have more than one of these.. a newer Hardware ver 5.  shows the model name and (US) ...

So with this one, it is not a US model?  what country of original do I select to down load the firmware for it?

thanks

@erebus

The AP is definitely not the US region. I would recommend sending an email to our global team here: https://www.tp-link.com/en/support/contact-technical-support/#E-mail-Support

Mainly to see if they are able to see what region it may belong to knowing the hardware version and firmware build. Putting the wrong firmware even if it goes through can brick it.
