Deco app clearly does not have the same capabilities as Kasa and I'm a bit confused - are those parallel ecosystems?

 

Can you elaborate a bit what is the envisioned TP Link Smart Home setup assuming the need for Mesh network?

Both the Deco and Smart home are their own app and do not control each other.

 

So for the Deco system, you would use the Deco app to control the Zig-Bee devices.

 

With respect to the Kasa app, you would need the TP-Link SR20 router, which you can then add Zig-Bee devices.

Will the sr20 router work with the deco m9+ system? It is stated that the deco m9 is a smart router but it will not pair with Kasa as a smart Router? Are there plans to add the same Kasa functionality to the deco app?

No, the SR20 and the Deco are two separate entities.

 

You can have them both connected to the same network. For example, have your modem connected to the SR20 and then the SR20 connected to the Deco. 

 

However, if you want to manage the devices, you will need to use separate apps.
