Model: Archer AX3000
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.0.4

I have my DSL modem set for bridge mode. In my AX3000 I have PPOE setup for connection. Once it's connected it works great. But from time to time it seems to lose connection. The only way I can get it to re-connect is to power the router down and back up. Sometimes I have to do this several times before it re-connects. My modem shows connected to the DSL so it's not that connection. Powering the modem down and up doesn't work. My old router, different brand, never had this problem. It never lost connection.

Any suggestions? If it loses connection when I'm gone it causes a real problem.

If you revert the DSL modem to being a router again, and set the AX3000s WAN to DHCP is the connection stable?

If I set the modem to do it's own PPOE connection then set the AX3000 as a static, or dynamic, IP on the Wan side it keeps the connection with no problem. The issue with that is I can no longer access the VPN server in the router. And the port forwarding in the router no longer works.

Having two router means double port forwarding would need to be done. So whatever ports you forwarded in the TP-Link router you would configure the DSL router to forward the same ports, but reference the IP the DSL router gave the Archer.
