Model: Deco M9 Plus
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: 1.2.12 build 20191014 ref. 42025

Trying to use my new Deco M9 Plus for the last 5 days. Internet keeps dropping out numerous times each day! Tablet is connected to my Deco wifi but app reports it can not find the main Deco. Can't troubleshoot or re-set the deco without using the app! Why can't I control the Decos with a wired interface?

Deco units all have valid IP addresses.

I can ping all 3 units from a wired computer. (only main Deco is wired...)

Tablet is connected to deco wifi

Internet not working (WiFi only)

LAN shares not accessable (WIFi only)

App does not find the main deco.

All 3 deco units have solid green led's

System info;

Dedco M9 Plus running in AP mode.

Main Deco wired to gateway

Gateway wireless radio is off due to deco wifi not connecting to internet when on. (Unique SSID's)

Wireless devices all connect to Deco WiFi network, but do not have internet or LAN share access.

Problem temporarily resolved by either physically unplugging/ plugging Main deco power or remove decos IP from network via gateway web interface then refreshing DHCP server.

This happens multiple times per day. Am I missing something?

Any help more than welcomed, I am about ready to return these units and go with netgear hardware...

Thanks for looking

TSMC

@TSMC

The M9 v2 has new firmware available for it. I would first start that route.

A major difference with this release is that you need to download the file, and use the utility to get the nodes updated. There is a pdf that will walk you through updating them.

Swap the Ethernet cable that the main Deco is using, also swap the main Deco itself for any of the other satellite units.

@Tony

After many hours of trouble shooting I have determined that 1 of my Deco units is malfunctioning and bringing down the whole network. Been running fine over a week with 2 units online. as soon as the third Deco is plugged in, the network becomes unstable and crashes.

Now to see if I can get just 1 unit replaced...
