Model: Deco M9 Plus
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: 1.4.2 20200725 Rel. 65637

My Deco app is notifying me of a new firmware update available with version 1.4.2 20200725 Rel. 65637. It says "Improved stability, security and performance."

There aren't any detailed release notes and it isn't showing online yet.

Anyone know what this includes? I've seen mention in other threads of better WPA2 and AES support coming (i.e. being able to force it), but not much else.

I can't update to it at the moment since my network is currently in use by kids doing online school, etc., but I will probably update it later today. I thought it would normally update on its own at night - is that not the case?

@bacevedo

Here are the notes:

1. Added switch for the UPnP function.
2. Added isolation switch for the main network and guest network in Access Point mode.
3. Displayed which client is connected to which deco and which Wi-Fi band.
4. Displayed how Decos are connected to each other, using Wi-Fi or Ethernet backhaul.
5. Disabled ping on WAN port to get rid of security risks.
6. TP-Link smart devices can be automatically added as smart devices after being connected to the Deco network now.
7. Improved system security and reliability.
8. Supported the Zigbee device called Muller light.

@Tony

Thanks for that info, but that's for the previous firmware - 1.4.0 20200324 Rel. 53529.

There is a newer version that I just updated to today (1.4.2 20200725 Rel. 65637) that isn't on the website for download yet. I'm curious about that one.

I updated my original post to indicate the firmware version in the template.

@bacevedo

I also got this newer firmware. By luck I was doing my weekly reboot of router/modem, and new version came up on power up: so I installed it.
Have not been able to find details on TpLink site yet.

So far no issues- but can't see functional difference either.

@bacevedo

The other bit of info was that there was a bug related to WPS that was fixed.
