Model: Deco P9
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.1.0 Build 20200513 Rel. 52023

  Before the firmware update I was getting around 410 Mbps down and 450 Mbps up.  Now it's usually 225/200.  I tested the line by plugging PC straight into the internet connection, bypassing the P9, long enough to run a speed test and got the usual pre-upgrade speeds.

  Has anyone else seen this?

  I also noticed CPU load is almost always at 100% and I think they are running hotter now.

@monahancj Rebuilding the network worked mostly.  At 375/450 down/up the download is slightly slower and the upload is back to normal.

@Tony, thank you for the help.

TP-Link, do better, please.

@monahancj

I would check if the Deco units are connected to each other the way they were before.

Disconnect the satellite units and test the main Deco see what speeds you get there.

Look at the QoS settings, if that is set lower then your internet speed it will bottleneck your network. Manually set it to something like 500 Mbps or higher value.

If testing the main node is slow, swap the node with one of the satellite nodes and replace the Ethernet cable.

If there is still no improvement, delete your Deco network and factory default each Deco node not just the main, and set up the network again.

@Tony the only change was the firmware.  The computer testing is all wired.

computer -> cat 6 -> gigabit switch -> cat 6 -> main P4 -> cat 6 -> Verizon FIOS ONT

I bypassed the switch, computer to P9, and got the same slow speeds.  I bypassed the switch and the P9 and got the original, contracted speeds.

The QOS was set to 400.  I changed it to 800 a few minutes ago and tested.  Same slow speeds.

I'll try rebuilding the network, but for TP-Link's ears, it's a ridiculous workaround.  Especially if it works.

If I get annoyed enough I'm going to test with a factory fresh P9 with the old firmware.  My apartment only needs two P9s for coverage so the 3rd is sitting in the basement.

Thanks for the suggestions.

I am having same issues after the firmware update. My speeds are terrible and with very frequent disconnects also. Speeds are in low 50's and uploads under 1mbps and prior to the firmware update it was in 400's. I have updated the QOA and set it to 800 and 400 as recommended here still no major improvments. I even tried resetting all deco's and setting up a new network and it seemed working for couple of hours and we back to same issue. How do I do a factory reset to take it back to old firmware or any other suggestions? I am having M9 Plus V1.
