@Tony

I started having the same behavior with my router, it started 2 days ago (Sunday 2am, and Monday 3 am) in the early morning, but today I got it around 12:20 pm.
The router has the latest firmware 1.1.1 Build 20200714 rel.18254(5553).

I was asleep during the reboot but was able to detect it thanks to some scripts that failed to reach my cloud provider for around 5 minutes. There was no VPN involved at that time altough I use 1 during the day.

The router is using the original power supply.

What else can I help with to further troubleshoot this issue?

Yes, the same thing has started here.

First, it would just drop the WIFI (both 2.4 and 5ghz), but now it is completely rebooting. This morning it has already done this 3x and its a Sunday.

To fix the random wifi drop-outs - we did a factory reset - but now its gone one up on me and just cold reboots.

Latest firmware, on Optus 1000/40 NBN line. This is installed at a business - and it is very frustrating!

No VPN or other ancillary services running.

TP-Link - we need this investigated and sorted please. The AX6000 is no entry-level device and I think its users expect rock-solid performance.

There are a couple of other threads about Archer C9 routers where iOS 14 devices connected to your router have caused random reboots. Disconnection of those devices seems to have isolated the issue and the latest iOS 14.1 update may have cured it completely so you can reconnect them. Worth a look.

Thanks for this - No such devices exist on our network.

@TP-Link this needs to be fixed. Yesterday we have 5 or 6 random restarts and my staff and I are about to throw this thing out the window. NOT happy from a premium $500 device. These random restarts are putting huge strain on our productivity as we deal with some pretty big files all day long.

It would be best to reach out to our support team so they make work with those experiencing the random reboots. The logs currently accessible would not be enough, and would help in narrowing the cause.

I have the same issue with my ax6000 on firmware 1.1.1 Build 20200714 rel.18254(5553).

Suspect it is a firmware issue as it has only started doing it since updating to the latest firmware. Prior to the latest firmware update the 2.4GHz wifi would keep dropping out and need a reboot to fix.

Hi Everyone.

I had a bucket load of restarting issues on the AX6000 after upgrading to the lastest firmware just like everyone else on these forums. Couldn't put my finger on it.

HOWEVER, A friend of mine recently suggested changing out the power supply that was supplied, for an equivalent 4A rated one, and since then for the last three days It has been stable!

Perhaps there was a manufacturing issue with the power supply that at random times, a high current was the precursor for an internal 'trip switch' perhaps? Maybe TP-Link can elaborate more on the mechanics of what may be happening here, but I feel this has provided me with a solution thus far, especially considering its only happened with the latest firmware? Maybe the voltage tolerances were tightened etc?

I'll obviously update if it goes back to restarting again - but perhaps something for everyone else to look at - and try an alternative power supply (with the same rating as the AX6000) to try to see if this fixes it for you.

IF this fixes your problem - it might be up to TP-Link to resupply everyone with a new (better quality) power supply!

Replying to my post above.

It has now been stable for 6 days straight without any restarting.

I can only assume it was a faulty power supply issue.

@benjaminAU I recently had the same issue, the AX6000 router would reboot once a day everyday.  I bought a compatible AC adapter a few days ago and the router has been working w/o reboot since then.  Thanks for the suggestion!

@DynaxCA

Can you write which new power supply solved the problem?
