If you want to send the signal from one area to another it is usually recommended to have one CPE transmitting to another CPE, then attaching a router at the end.

Rather then client mode I think a previous user set the second CPE to bridge mode.

If you can send and receive data from the outbuilding then you may need to find how you would connect the router in the outbuilding via WDS Bridging. 

IP settings would need to be outside of the DHCP pool, so if your DHCP pool goes from .100 to .200, make the router 192.168.254.10

@Tony - Thanks a lot for your reply.  So if I have two CPE210s in this scenario (I just ordered my second one), do I need to change their IP addresses to 192.168.254.X to match the primary router?  Or can I leave them as 192.168.0.X (with the two CPE210s and the router in the outbuilding all having a different final number)?  Do the two CPEs and the router in the outbuilding have to have the same SSID as the primary router?  Lastly, what is the difference in this case between putting the CPE210 in the outbuilding in Bridge mode instead of Client mode?  Thanks very much for your help!

The IPs would be consistent of the router IP so 192.168.254.x

Putting the outbuilding in bridge mode is what I was thinking should be done since it worked for the user in the thread linked above.

The SSIDs do not need to be made the same as the outhouse CPE just needs to connect to the AP CPE.

@Tony - Thanks again for your help and insight.  The second CPE210 arrives in the mail tomorrow, and I'll let you know how it goes after we get it set up.

@Tony - Just read the other article and want to be sure I have this straight:

Actiontec router (192.168.254.254, SSID Windstream)---(ethernet)---CPE210 (AP mode, 192.168.254.253, SSID CPE210)---(broadcast)---CPE210 (Bridge mode, 192.168.254.252)---(ethernet)---Belkin router (AP mode, 192.168.254.251, SSID outbuilding).

Should I set separate IP address ranges for the Actiontec (main) router and the Belkin (outbuilding) router with the Actiontec being maybe 192.168.254.125-250 and the Belkin as 192.168.254.1-124?

The Belkin router in AP mode should be that it will use the DHCP pool of your Actiontec router so the DHCP pool of the Actiontec is the only range that would need to be configured.

@Tony - Okay, so I got the second CPE210 yesterday.  I configured everything as indicated.  When I connect to the Client CPE210 with my laptop, I can successfully ping the AP CPE210 and also the primary router.  But I cannot get internet access.  I tried pinging 8.8.8.8 with no reply.  I tried the suggestions in this article: tp-link.com/us/support/faq/2575/.  No luck with those either.  Do you have any other suggestions about making a connection to the internet?

@Tony - tried that.  I'm moving backwards.  Now I cannot connect to the CPE AP with the second CPE or wirelessly with my laptop with the directed setup.  I'm going to reset everything to factory defaults on both CPEs tomorrow and start from scratch.  If I still cannot get this to work I'll just return them both for a refund while I still can.

The sad thing is that this is a common setup: modem-router-CPE210-CPE210-router.  This likely is the main reason people buy this device.  Yet there are no clear instructions how to accomplish this on the TP-Link website, and the community and customer service directions just muddy the waters even more.  What good is a product if the instructions to use it don't work?
