Firmware Version: 3.18.1 build 171030 rel 43957n

using quick setup for range extender

 

survery, selected the wireless router I wanted to extend

wds auto

wireless WPA/WPA2 (matches other router)

password to other router

Smart IP (DHCP)

 

Fails instructions are to reboot and try again

 

Here's the interesting part, my base router show the 940N getting a ISP address and connected

192.168.1.37

 

Connecting to network, no internet connection. I know the base router is connected to the internet.

 

Checking on base router, use as DHCP server - on

addresses 192.168.20 - .199

Gateway 192.168.1.1

Factory reset the router by holding the reset for 15 seconds, then try setting it up in WDS mode this way: https://www.tp-link.com/us/support/faq/1385/
