Model: Archer A7
Hardware Version: V5
Firmware Version: Archer A7(US)_V5_201029

Archer A7 with the November 2020 firmware. Attached to a cable modem (motorola) with Cox service, both main and guest networks active. 5G and 2.4 only on the main network, 2.4 only on the guest network.

There is a TP_Link WA-901ND configured as a client to connect a Lorex 4k security DVR to the main wifi network, and a Roku TV  also connected wireless to the main network.

Generally things work fine, but every few days the 901ND keeps the network connection but no other clients on the main wifi network can connect to the internet. Wired can connect, and the guest network connects. And you can connect to the main wifi and look at the router status, and it thinks there is no internet connection. Rebooting the router has no effect, but turning off the 901ND returns everything to normal. The 901 also has the latest firmware available as of 11/2020.

This is a very odd problem, any ideas?

@Tholius1

Have you tried the other two modes such as bridge or repeater? If so, does it have the same symptom.

@Tholius1 So one error, I did have the 5G on for the main network. I swapped the 901ND for an 801ND and it made no difference. Then, when looking at the A7 settings, I noticed that it had a "feature" to keep your phone automatically connected to the fastest network. I turned this OFF and turned off 5G and I have not seen the problem since.

Using the 801 or 901 as a bridge or repeater is not useful in the application I have, I specifically need it to be a client, so I have not tried other applications.
