Model: TL-PA7010 KIT
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version:

Firmware for TL-PA7010(P) TL-PA7017 TL-PA7027(P) AV1000. TL-WPA7510. BCM960355 3.2.4.14077

This official firmware from tp-link works on all these mentioned powerline adapters although for some hardware versions an older firmware on the tp-link website is available.

BCM60355 3.2.4.14077 https://www.tp-link.com/en/support/download/tl-pa7027p-kit/#Firmware For update use the tpPLC_Utility.
These powerline adapters AV1000 have the Broadcom BCM960355 chip. Therefore you can use regardless what supplier of your powerline device is the same firmware. Some suppliers do not offer latest firmware.
Broadcom firmware is a ggl file which is a tar archive. With a viewer for compressed archives you can open this file and see what firmware is inside it.
The latest available firmware file is fw_upgrade.14077.rakis_A1_no_diag.BCM960355.bin. The number 14077 is the version.
If you use different powerline adapter types and different hardware versions the powerline adapters have different default firmware versions when bought. In your powerline network due to the different firmware versions and even older firmware versions you will not get the maximum transfer speed and stability. It was measured that with the latest firmware sometimes transfer speed doubles.
Via the D-Link PLC utility with this firmware even the D-link Dhp-601av (2x Dhp-600av) Powerline Gigabit Starter Kit or other work great with the TP-Link adapters together.

@PowerlineFW  the tplink support web site lists two routers a tl-7010 and a tl-7010(p). For the first one there is no firmware upgrade but for the second with the p suffix there is an upgrade. With that information I chose not to upgrade the home plug as I would not wish to risk putting the wrong firmware in and making the plug completely useless.  As far as the original problem is concerned I have somehow, I changed a lot of settings on various devices back to factory settings and reset the whole network including making the printer able to act as an access point ( which is unused ) . Once completed it works which was the object of the exercise.

thank you for your answer it gave insight.

The suffix p does mean it has a power outlet which is not linked to any software function. The firmware for p and non p is identical.

@PowerlineFW

I have a TL-WPA7510 KIT that is running slow so I am trying to update the firmware. I have updated the TL-WPA7510 extender using the tpPLC utility with the latest firmware from the TP-LINK download center (3.2.4_75102_181126_901). The tpPLC utility used a bin file format for the extender. I would also like to update the TL-PA7010 adapter but the tpPLC utility requires a GGL file for the adapter update. No GGL file is available from the TP-Link download center. I have downloaded the GGL file from this post but the update fails when using the tpPLC utility to install the firmware. The current firmware version of the TL-PA7010 adapter is (3.2.4_7010003_180102_901).

Any help with this issue would be greatly appreciated.

@zip031 Did you try the D-Link PLC utility? For the TL-WPA7510 with the bin file the WLAN part was updated, the powerline part not.

@PowerlineFW - I just purchased two of the TL-PA7017 kits and would like to upgrade the firmware if it available. Where could I download the latest version? I have looked at the support site for the kits but the latest firware showing is not fro 2021.

Did you check the firmware listed for the TL-PA7027?

@PowerlineFW - I did, it failed on the two that I tried. Not a big deal, I can wait for the official release for these adapters.

  @PowerlineFW

I know this is an old post. But can anyone confirm if the version I see available for TL-PA7027: "TL-PA7027P KIT(EU)_V1.0_200113" with the file "BCM60350_v1.0.0d_20200113_EU_PA7027Pv1.0.ggl" also works for TL-PA7010 and TL-PA7017 models?

The chip model (BCM60350) is the same for all models as well, as far as I can see in each specific firmware file. The versions for each equipment, however, are different: PA7010 is V2 and PA7017 is V4.

Thanks

  @PowerlineFW @CrisT.

Thank you PowerlineFW - it worked for me not just on TP-Link HW but also for Tenda. I've just tried this on a Tenda PH3 AV1000 which was made in 2017. It also works for this.

BCM960355 based PCBs are all probably just rebrands/repackaged Broadcom reference designs. If you open the ".ggl" file in 7-zip and look at the contents of hw_version.txt, as long as hw_version, fw_version and fw_features matches with the latest firmware for your current product's support page - it will flash and it will work (these parameters matched what was on the Tenda PH3, and I've also checked in 7-zip, the 7017V4). What does change however, are the CFGs/paramconfigs.

It breathed new life into my Tenda PH3 by boosting the link rate of the PHY by 50Mbps. Previously it would be around 250Mbps. Now it is consistently above 300-350Mbps - with bursty behavior by peaking up to 400Mbps.

I used the firmware linked in the original post for the PH3:

"BCM60350_v1.0.0d_20200113_EU_PA7027Pv1.0.ggl"

EDIT: I flashed the TP-Link FW with Tenda's PLC utility.
