When I connect to my Archer A7 AC1750 router via wifi,  I have an unstable connection, but its very consistent.  For example, if I'm on a zoom session, the video/audio freeze for about a half second to a second every 15 - 20 seconds.   If i have a wired connection to the router,  I have no problems.  I've tried different channels, checked firmware, etc,  but nothing has fixed the problem.  I'm also right next to the router, so its not an issue caused by being to far from the router.  Any recommendations on specific settings to check?

If you happen to have another device you can use zoom with test that to see if the issue stays on your device being used. Make sure your A7 does not have the same name for the 2.4G and 5G, but different.

@Tony Thanks for the reply.  My A7 does have the same Network name(SSID) for both 2.4G and 5G.  How do you edit that field?     Also, I don't have another computer to try with zoom at the moment, but I should be able to do that tomorrow.

@Tony Hi Tony,   I was able to test with another device and it did not have the issue, so I assumed the issue was being caused by some setting on my computer.   However, I finally figured out how to change the name of my 5G(so now the 2.4G and 5G are no longer named the same), and thought i would try that.  This seems to have fixed the issue on my computer now also. Thanks for you help.

Glad to see it working.

 

What I think was happening is since your computer saved the network name and password, it was jumping between the 2.4G and 5G causing the interruption as it switched over.
