Model: Archer C9
Hardware Version: V5
Firmware Version: 1.2.4

I'm trying to setup an Archer C9 to do WDS bridging. The steps I go to:

- Change IP to 192.168.0.2

- Enable WDS for 5Ghz and enter info for the SSID to be bridged

- Disable DHCP

I have a desktop PC connected to the bridge router using ethernet. The bridge works at first but the connection drops after an hour or so. Sometimes I can't even ping 192.168.0.2. If I reboot the router it starts working again.

Anyone encounter similar issues? I originally had a beta drivier on there but downgraded to the latest release version. Didn't change anything.

The root router is also an Archer C9 (but v1.0).

EDIT: To add more info when the connection drops the WDS status changes from 'Run' to either 'Assoc' or 'Disabled'.

@dbdbs

Swap the routers to see if the V5 works better as the main and the V1 as the WDS bridge.

Bridge the 2.4G, rather than the 5G.

@Tony I swapped the routers and didn't have any luck with that either. Let me try bridging 2.4..

@dbdbs

Sounds good, also I would make the SSID names different on the main router.
