Model: Archer AX21
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.2.1 Build 20201202 rel.76564(5553)

On fresh reboot of the router on the 5GHZ bandwidth, I get about 500 Mbps download/ 45 Mbps upload.

On fresh reboot of the router on the 100mbps Ethernet, I get about 95 Mbps download, 45 Mbps upload.

After 24 hours or so I see that drop to 7-10 Mbps for upload and download for both. Seems like the router gets bogged down or gets stuck. A reboot seems to help, but I don't want to schedule a reboot of the router every 24 hours. Seems more like maybe a once a week or once of month kind of thing versus every day.

UPDATE: May 20 th 2021 7:55AM MST

Just updated to firmware:

1.3.0 Build 20210304 rel.12099(5553)

Apparently, the firmware update checker on my router wasn't picking up the new version for some reason. In any case, did it the old-fashioned way and will report back tomorrow if anything odd happens or if I see the same issue.

UPDATE 2: May 20 th 2021 8:05PM MST

After being on for about 12 hours. I'm experiencing the same issue again. 5GHZ bandwidth speeds are back to being 7-8 Mbps and I'm not sure why. I'm contacting tech support now to see what the issue is.

UPDATE 3: May 20 th 2021 11:08 PM MST

Tech support had me try a myriad of connection ways. Including connecting to my modem directly to get a base speed test. Oddly enough when I reconnected the modem to the router, whatever was causing the problem to the WAN port cleared up. My new theory is that something is throttling the WAN port and when that connection gets reset. It fixes whatever was blocking throughput. Tech support has referred me to a senior engineer to get back to me within 1 business day. Speeds were back up as of 11:09 PM MST

UPDATE 4: May 21 th 2021 11:13 AM MST

Almost exactly 12 hours later since the last restart,  my speed is now limited to 10 Mbps for all connections to the WAN port. I'm trying a new setting where I set the Internet Port Negotiation Speed Setting to 1000Mbps and full-duplex instead of auto-negotiation. This appears to have resolved the issue for now, but I'll know more in 12 hours. The nice thing is that this doesn't seem to reset the router or anything so my devices aren't having to reconnect.

UPDATE 5: May 22nd 8:00 AM MST

Slow down occurred again. I should have checked last night at 11pm, but I was out getting drunk. This time I tried a release/renew on the Internet settings to see if it's a software issue related to that or something. In any case that didn't work either. I ended up having to once again play with the Internet Port Negotiation Speed Setting by just changing to force a WAN restart. This seems to have fixed it for now, but I expect another slow down around 8:00 PM based previous history. Here's a snap shot of my log and refresh at 8:00 am today.

Update 7: June 13th, 2021

After going back and forth with TP-Link I ended up returning the router and got another one. I ended with the exact same issue. It's either a firmware issue or a hardware issue. Router is now directly connected to the modem with the cable supplied by TP-Link.
