I just purchased the Deco M9 3 pack but have found that I have great coverage at my house with just 2 units. Can I use the 3rd unit as a standalone router at our cabin? If so do I have to do something special to add it to the app as it would be in a totally different house? Thanks

Yes, each Deco can be used independently. Just create a new network (each network being independent of the other - location can be different or the same).
