Connection has been extremely unstable recently.

- internet light remains green, but no actual connection

- after rebooting, light became orange and IP address shows up as all 0

- just waited for a long time without having done anything, light turned green again and the connection works briefly before becoming useless once again

Have you verified it was not the modem? Connect directly to it if you can (I assume you've got Ethernet capability)?

 

When you say "Connection has been extremely unstable recently.", that would imply it worked fine before? If so, did you change anything, cables, modem, ISP speed service?

 

You said you rebooted, but have you powered off the router and back on and see if it works? Might help.

 

Next thing to try, s router RESET, wiping out all settings  which you'll need to manually reenter after the router comes up. Do not use a saved configuration as it could bad.

 

Lastly, contact TP-Link support I guess?
