Hardware Version:
Firmware Version: Firm 1.5.1 Build 20220113 Rel. 42007

I have the Deco S4 wireless up an running.

I have a WIN 10 desktop PC that is hardwired to my Deco S4 main router

Info:

    I know my main router’s ip address [eg. \\192.1.1\] and my desktop ip address. [eg. \\192.1.2\]

   My desktop C drive is set up for sharing

I am trying to map to from my wireless lapto to my desktop [ie wired] C drive, any ideas on the WIN 10 map format?

  @Heidi_Alp

thank you so much for replying so quickly...i really really appreciate that!

I did uncover a simplier way w/o having to use IP address mapping :(

1) make sure your wired Drive has security.  refer to https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pl59ODaP6no

2) Define the wired Drive sharing

    1. Windows + E
    2. Select desired drive
    3. click Sharing tab
    4. click Advanced Sharing
    5. click Sharing tab again and Advanced Sharing
    6. select ‘Share this Folder’ checkbox. [use meaningful name ‘C_Main’
    7. click Permissions
    8. click Add
    9. add ‘everyone’ select full control
    10. click apply
    11. click apply. Before closing note the ‘network name’ eg. \\DELL-1237\C_Main.  This is very important

3) map wireless laptop to shared drive

    1. Windows + E
    2. On Home tab, click easy access
    3. Choose drive letter
    4. Type in network name e.g. \\DELL-1237\C_Main.
    5. Checkbox ‘reconnect at login’ if desire
    6. Do NOT select ‘connect using different credentials’
    7. Click Finish

  @Kombucha

Did you give the windows 10 wired PC a static IP address-192.1.2.xxx?

You could try to modify the subnet mask. The default is 255.255.255.0 and you can change it to 255.255.252.0 so 192.1.1.x could be in the same segment as 192.1.2.x.
