label has worn off my unit and I need the password.
the Access Point is part of my Carrier HVAC system.
any thoughts of resetting or a replacement, as I see this is a discontinued

When the device is set to factory default settings, the username and password should both be set to the default admin
As your device is outdated and not supported anymore, I would recommend downloading the User Guide for the router from the support page for future use: TL-WR741nd Downloads
The user guide also contains instructions on what the default login is, and the other ways of setting up the rotuer.
