Just purchased a Deco mesh system.  Why does my LG TV connect to the unit that is 35 feet away and has 3 walls between rather than the unit that is just 5 feet away?  Is my unit bad?

Your unit just a few feet away likely is getting the same quality of signal from your main unit as your TV. When it rebroadcasts, it is weaker. Try moving the satellite unit closer to your router or main unit. Then it will have a stronger signal to rebroadcast and will likely work better.
