I thought status lights would indicate that I'm only getting <50Mb speed, but when I test I'm getting my ISP rate of 100Mb, how is that?

  @ShooterMcgavins

A red Powerline light simply indicates a poor signal down the power lines.  This could indicate a lot of different things, but most likely there is noise nearby.  Try putting electrical devices near the remote powerline adapter into a surge protector or if you are able to relocate the adpter itself.
