The Speed Test had to, unfortunately, be removed in the last update to the Deco App. While the test was generally useful, there has been a great deal of confusion on what is actually being tested, and there was also an increasing number of users reporting that the speed test was not reporting accurate numbers.

The deco speed test was made to provide an indicator of client performance and only tested the maximum speed that could be received by phone, rather than from your ISP. As a result, poor wi-fi connections or environmental factors would affect the speed leading users to believe that their overall network speed was less than what it was.

Our team has forwarded the feedback and relayed how many users have come to use the feature. After the feature is worked out to be more accurate and better integrated we may see the feature reintroduced.

For now, we recommend using sites like fast.com or ookla to test the speed to your client device. If you would like to test the speeds from your ISP, we recommend using one of these tests over a wired connection directly to the main node.
