Dear All

i have a pack of two of TP-Link Deco E4 AC1200 Dual Band Dual Pack Wireless Wifi Mesh Router. Basically the main is connected (deco a)  with ethnernet cable and the other one (deco b)is through wifi.  They both work fine.

I added a new deco -  (deco c) (so now i have a total of 3) but a differnet version of Deco - Deco M4.  The only problem, I face is that if i disconnect (deco b) - this one is the one connected through wi-fi the other (deco c) does not work.   Once i put it on deco b - deco c works fine.  The error i face is a red light

Thanks for your help

  @Keith1982,

Do you know how your nodes are connecting? It sounds as if your newly added Deco was daisy-chained and connecting through Deco B to communicate with the main node.

What is the distance between the main node and Node C?

I would try moving the new Deco node closer to the main node and evenly distributing your nodes so that they can have the best possible connection back to the main node and can move their own connections around in the case a node is disconnected.

After a while, does the third Deco establish a connection with the main unit? What if you reboot and do not reconnect Node B, does Node C reconnect?

  @Riley_S  thanks for your message.

Yes the newly connected Deco c is connecting thru Deco B and not the main. In fact as soon as Deco B is online that is switched on it connects automatically Deco c. I tried to install Deco c again by keeping Deco B offline but still does not find and connect. Deco c was placed very close to main unit

I checked thru app and it seems it is connected to the main Deco, at least that it what is written

I was thinking of trying to reinstall Deco c through ethernet cable through port of main deco and than retry without cable and with Deco B offline. I don't know if this will help out
