Model: Archer BE800
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version:

Found a deal on amazon for BE800, decide to upgrade from my Archer C3150.

Router looks amazing but I am getting worse signal than on my old C3150 on 5Ghz and 6Ghz is near non-existent from one room away.

On old C3150 getting -50 dbm per Wifiman and on BE800 getting anywhere from -67 dbm all the way to -76dbm.

Do you thnk I just got a defective unit or is the antenna's weaker on this BE800 being internal antenna's vs external antennas

@jpencarnacion65 make sure you are using a wireless channel that allows for maximum transmit power.

Max Allowable transmit power is dependent on the country you are in and the wireless channel of the frequencies you select.

For instance, in the United States 5ghz channels 149-161 (U-NII-3 band) have a higher transmit power limit (1000mW) than channels 32-64 (U-NII-1/U-NII-2 band which are limited to 250mW).

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_WLAN_channels

Choosing the same channels on my BE800, I get the same or a little better range than my old Asus rt-ac66u_B1 that had external antennas.
