B63 USB Doesn't see my hard drive
I have an M2 Macbook Air that I'm backing up on an LaCie 2TB hard drive. I connect directly to my Macbook Air via USB-C connection. I recently purchased the Deco BE63 because it supposedly had a usable USB port. When I connect the LaCie hard drive to the Deco USB Sharing the B63 when scanned doesn't find the LaCie hard drive. Is there something specific to the LaCie that prevents it from being seen by the B63?

There are not too many limits placed on the USB drives, but they do have a few:
- First, have you seen if the drive is detectable in the Deco App? The Drive will not be automatically discoverable across your entire network and must first be configured.
- Decos are only compatible with FAT32, NTFS, exFAT formats. See if your device is using a different format.
- Depending on the hard drive, there could be a problem with the power needed for the drive. We normally recommend using an external hard drive that has a separate power source. You may be able to see if there is a problem by checking the LED indicators on your drive itself.

The router manual indicates that the device is equipped with a USB port; however, it does not provide instructions on how to connect other devices to the Deco system.
For your reference, here is the link to the router manual:

Additionally, the Deco app manual does not address this issue either.
You can find the Deco app manual here:

Thank you for the reply. The LaCie is APFS Volume. I suppose I could go in to MacOS disk utility and reformat to an acceptable format for the Deco.

Unfortunately, the format would be the cause then. APFS is Apple's proprietary format for its file systems and devices, I believe it is usually used with the Airport Utility for backups. If you do swap formats, just make sure that you remember that changing the format of the disk will remove all of its contents.
