Model: Deco BE65
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: 1.0.5 Build 20240521 Rel. 64384

This have been going on for awhile, and I finally started working on it. Ever since the above F/W version.

I have TWO problem.

Net View is on, NOW with IPv6 for the Internet Connection OFF, I see this:

C:\>net view
Server Name            Remark

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
\\IRVXPS8940           Irv's XPS8940
\\LARAINE-XPS8500      Laraine's XPS8500
The command completed successfully.

First is MY PC, 2nd is wife's. MISSING and was there on the OLD F/W is the Main Router's External Drive. It does show in the iPhone Deco app:

21a6dff7b1384f3e9f01e14c893a912a

Of course, using the SHARE NAME, I can see it:

C:\>net view \\tp-share
Shared resources at \\tp-share

Share name  Type  Used as  Comment

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
G           Disk
The command completed successfully.

What it doesn't show is in the File Manager as a server... but programs like VLC and access the saved videos from ripped DVD's on it as well as Smart TV's and VLC in iPad's.

This ALL was working in the older F/W.

Now the next problem with IPV6. If I turn it off via Deco app, NET VIEW can't see MY PC:

C:\>net view
Server Name            Remark

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
\\LARAINE-XPS8500      Laraine's XPS8500
The command completed successfully.

Only my WIFE's can be seen.

Oh, I can't access her PC though, I get a PERMISSION ERROR, but not with the prior F/W.

In ALL cases, IPv6 on or off, my wife's PC can access MY PC. Not only access it, has full read/write capability which she is supposed to have.

So, to net this out:

  • NET VIEW does NOT see the Router External USB drive as a SHARE.
  • If IPv6 is enabled on the router, NET VIEW can NOT see my PC or the Router.
  • I can NOT access my wife's PC

C:\>net view \\laraine-xps8500
System error 5 has occurred.

Access is denied.

File Manager set to NETWORK and try to access her PC:

9d087beb969f46868616810e9442f0da

NO changes were made to ANY Permissions on EITHER PC. I then tried to RESET them by going to her PC and removing mine and recreating them. Nope, still doesn't work.

Again, ALL this worked fine before the F/W upgrade.

Contacted Support and got NO help on this.

Re:BE65 Deco Windows 11, Net View problems and USB External drive.
Yesterday

Well, I don't know what to say....

For months struggling with this. I did get my wife's W10 PC to connect to and see my PC. Can read and write to the disks... Created new Credentials for her. She could ONLY see my PC.

Meanwhile, nothing I did, even creating new credentials worked.

Well, today I got updated to 24H2 which 'knows' Wifi7:

7af8a632b73e46cdb18043477d58ed28

So I tried Net VIEW:

C:\>net view
System error 6118 has occurred.

The list of servers for this workgroup is not currently available

Hmm, odd, I could at least see my PC and my Wife's before....

So I try to access my wife's PC, and get a DIALOG box asking for my P/W (userID already filled in). Gave it and see this:

C:\>net view \\laraine-xps8500
Shared resources at \\laraine-xps8500

Laraine's XPS8500

I actuall have access as well:

Volume in drive \\laraine-xps8500\f_drive is F_drive
 Volume Serial Number is 486E-634E

Also the rouiter:

So I'll assume on a reboot I'll get the network catalog?

It also supports MLO usage:

0f39cebfbe914a95b71e636c6ce94c79

Although it does seems a bit slower (10%) than it was before?

So, I don't know if the problems was a combo of the Deco BE65's Wifi7 and W11 not being able to handle it 'fully' or what, but on the latest W11 Version I'm basically 'working'.
