TPL-WPA4220 v4 Firmware Upgrade failing

Hardware Version: V4

Firmware Version: 4.0.2 Build 20190326 Rel.45151

I'm trying to upgrade the firmware on my powerline 4220 v4 powerline adapter. I've tried each of the 3 versions on the US website with the same result. I extract the .bin file with no issues. Then, Ive tried using the latest Windows Utility, or the web interface, with the same results.

Failed! Wrong File.

The bin file name is,

wpa4220v4_jp-up-ver4-0-4-P1-20240220-rel41561-APPLC.bin

Is this the correct file for the US? the "jp" in the filename makes me thing this might be the file for Japan?

Did you ever find the right update? I have exactly the same problem, and keep getting pointed to the same bin file that did not work for you.

@mikei Yes, I was able to get the .bin file to complete the upgrade with the 2nd to last upgrade file, but not the latest one from 2024. Have you tried that one yet? I believe the latest one on the US site is actually a mistaken Japan upgrade file due to the jp that is part of the file name.

That middle one from 20230428 seems to work. Yeah, the more recent one looks likes its for the Japanese market. Good catch and thanks for the pointer
