Unable to Access USB connected Hard Drive on computers
I'm trying to get my new router working.
When I connect an external hard drive to the USB port, I can see it in the router software. When I try to access it on either my Window 10 computer (via hardwire connection) or my Windows 11 computers (via wi-fi), neither of them can see it.
Everything I can find on line is only for Windows 7. I've tried everything they have suggested, but still cannot acces the hard drive.
Any suggestions?

Do you have SMB enabled on the PC's? The setting is in the Control Panel under Programs and Features, Turn Windows Features On or Off.
If you do have it installed, then open a Command Prompt and enter this command:
NET VIEW
Do you see TP-SHARE in the list? If you do, Windows File Manager set to NETWORK should see it.
I get an error 6118 when I run the command (Win11, 24H2) and think it is a router problem but the W10 PC gets the same error.
However both can Access the USB drive on the router.
We have to use the share name. In the same Command Prompt enter:
NET VIEW \\TP-SHARE
This is what I get with those commands:
========
C:\>net view
System error 6118 has occurred.
The list of servers for this workgroup is not currently available
C:\>net view \\tp-share
Shared resources at \\tp-share
Share name Type Used as Comment
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
G Disk
The command completed successfully.
=========
If you do not have SMB enabled, on the first command you'll get a different error. Depending what it is, might help shed some light on why you can not see the drive.
I'm thinking possible reasons could be the File System on the drive (NTFS works best), drive size, or even some disk errors.
Might want to take to drive to a PC and see if you can see it there? Run CHKDSK /F on it to clear any errors.

All SMB's are checked excpet for SMB 1.0/CIFS SERVER
When entering NET VIEW under command Prompt (Admin) I get error 1326 User name and Password incorrect
If I try entering NET VIEW\\TP-Share it says it is the wrong format.
The Hard drive works fine when connected to my old router. All three of our PC's can read and write to it.
I tried mapping a new network drive on my PC.
In Folder, I put the name listed in the TP-Link software shown under Network/Media Server Name. When I select Browse, nothing shows up.
I tried putting the driver name that my old router uses, select Browse and nothing shows up.
I cancel it and just select Finish, it dearches for the hard drive and then it then asks me for credentials (User Name and Password) What User name and Password do I put in? Everthing I try doesn't work.
If I can't get this working soon, I guess I'll just return it.

Don't need the server I recall.

That sound like to me either you set the USER NAME and PASSWORD on the router or you didn't and using the one from the old router? On the Router USB Share, turn of UID/PW required.
If I try entering NET VIEW\\TP-Share it says it is the wrong format.
Sorry I see that my copy/paste lost the blank between "VIEW" and "//". Should be "NET VIEW \\TP-Share"

Well, I don't know how you set the USB drive up on your router?
Here is the link to your Emulator page for the USB, https://emulator.tp-link.com/AXE95v1/index.html#storageSharing, I assme you will see the same.
On this part it is where the share name is, the default for your router is different from mine, TP-Share. If you page looks like this, use TPShare instead in the commands:
Below that part you'll see this:
Don't want to use a UserID and P/W for access or in the New View command, turn it OFF. If you DO want to use it then use the Modify to change them.
If you had them on the OLD Router, then edit them to match what you had.
