As I have the Master downstairs and the slave upstairs (Hallway is in the middle, being on the staircase), I'd like to connect a slave (Study Room) to another slave (Hallway) for better signal strengh. Since the app doesn't allow me to do that, please advise on how to do this. Thanks.

  @HelpFixDecoApp

I have a P9 as Master and 1x P9 & 2x X10 as Slaves. All connected to the network and functioning OK. I'dlike to connect one of the X10 Slave to the P9 Slave. Please see pictues from the first post.

See if these instructions help

  1. Open the Deco app: Launch the Deco app on your smartphone.
  2. Navigate to Add a Deco: Go to the Network tab and tap the "+" icon (usually in the upper right corner).
  3. Select "Add a Deco Unit": Choose the option to add a new Deco unit.
  4. Select Deco Model: Find and select the correct Deco X10 model from the list.
  5. Follow App Instructions: The app will guide you through the remaining steps, including:
    • Plugging in the new Deco unit and waiting for the LED to turn pulsing blue.
    • Confirming the LED status in the app.
    • Choosing a layout that matches your home.
    • The app will automatically add the new unit to your network.
  6. Additional Tips:
    • For optimal performance, ensure your Deco units are positioned strategically to avoid interference from walls or objects.
    • Consider using Ethernet backhaul for more stable connections between Deco units.
    • You can add more Decos to expand Wi-Fi coverage and fill in "dead zones".
    • TP-Link generally recommends a maximum of 10 Deco units in a single network for best performance, especially for WiFi 5 (AC) models.
    • For WiFi 6 or higher Decos, you can expand the system as needed.

2dc648e85ee74d8b9cd34bd8bc42e5c2  @HelpFixDecoApp I have followed those instructions and all my units are succesfully connected to the network. I just want to connect a Slave to another Slave, instead of the Master. See attached picture with top error message.

@Drz13 You can either add the X10 to your main network or add it as it's own network. Not sure there is a way to link the X10 or any other deco model as a slave to another slave unit.

Feel free to email support they might know of a way to do this.

1. Email support at support.usa@tp-link.com.
2. Include the model number of your Deco router, as well as the hardware and firmware versions.
3. Describe the issues you are facing and send the email.
