Hello,

Long time Deco M5 user since 2018 or so, network and app did everything we needed for us with 4 kids with parental controls and eco mode where we could turn wifi broadcasting off at night to keep any stray activity from happening.

The last few months or so we've been having issues where even though the system shows it's supposed to be off, it's still broadcasting for periods, turning on and then back off through the night. I tried redoing the whole network from scratch with a different main deco and seemed to help but started happening again. I figured some glitch since my understanding is that system isn't supported anymore so figured I needed to upgrade.

I bought a 3 pack of BE5000 and set them up. It looks like TP Link put some of the features standard on the M5 behind a pay wall now and it doesn't appear to have eco mode or the ability to just stop broadcasting WiFi for a time period like the M5.  Pretty disappointed, yeah I got Wi-Fi 7 now but I figured, if anything, the newer systems would actually have more features than one that came out in 2017.

Thinking about just sticking with my M5s and putting the main deco on a kasa smart switch to just knock out the whole thing. I have a separate AC1200 system that broadcasts that connects to my house devices that need to be on all the time.

Is my understanding of the BE5000 correct? Thx for any replies and information.

@EPP1877 Unfortunately TP-Link received "privacy complaint" due to their account setup requirement over the years, similar to Eero configuration.  What better way to combat this concern than to sell a third party (my understanding of HomeShield) product to ensure your security/privacy.  I wish that TP-Link provided some loyal customers free HomeShield service for upgrading like in your case, but I guess this hasn't happened.  (I have made the suggestion on this community board)...
