Model: Deco BE95
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version:

I have a couple of questions related to setting up the network on the BE95.

Setting everything up via the app was a breeze, but I was confused as to why there are two networks: one with 2.4ghz and 5ghz, and another with 6ghz.

Question 1) Should I name the name 6ghz SSID the same name as the 2.4ghz and 5ghz one? IMO it seems like it makes sense so that there is seamless handoff.

Question 2) I activated MLO, should it also have the same SSID as the other network? Or should it be differe t? I’m really not sure about this one.

Thanks for the help!

yes leave them all the same ssid. its 3 different wifi bands 2.4ghz 5ghz and 6ghz. by default deco might force 2.4 and 5ghz to be the same ssid.

for 2nd question, mlo is a feature not a ssid. it is probably safer to keep all ssid the same for mlo  to work. I could be wrong as i dont own any wifi 7 devices.

The Prefix should stay the same, so you'd know which is your.

Basicly on WiFi 7 routers that have only 3 SSID's:

  • The 2.4Ghz
  • A shared one called MLO for combined 5 and 6Ghz
  • The 6Ghz

If you Network name lets say is Home then the 3 SSID's would be:

  • Home
  • Home_MLO
  • Home_6Ghz
