Deco router will not connect to the Wi-fi

I have no issue connecting my devices to the Deco router, but the router will not connect to the internet. I have an Arris modem from RCN. I called RCN and they can see it's not connecting but they said they did everything they could on their end. Please help. I'm at my wits end with this.

Did you power off both the Deco and Modem?
The general way to add a NEW router or Deci unit is to POWER them both OFF. Then power up the modem and when fully up, then power up the Deco/Router.
Modem's tend to keep the last device they connected too it not powered off. So no doing so, when you connect the Deco, the modem will not 'talk' to it.

@IrvSp Yep, I did the whole power off and then power on. I tried the rebooting task. I did all the trouble shooting that i found in the FAQs.

Have you tried a different cable between the 2? I assume the same cable was used and worked thoguh? If so, check the ports, make sure they are not damaged in any way.
