Model: Archer AX3000
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version:

Installed a new cable modem, ate lunch, took a nap, then installed the router. Rebooted & restarted everything until things kind of work.

I DO have wifi for the 2 GHz on my mobile devices (probably happened when I installed the app) but I don't know what the password is. Got the iPad connected by holding the phone near it.

I want to change the wifi passwords. Otherwise I don't dare shut down both my mobile devices at the same time(!)

I want to change the display name of the router

I want to access the router via a web page.

In any browser I get the error message TRYING TO CONFIGURE THE MODEM (evil laughter) However, I was earlier able to connect to the router via computer browser and update the firmware.

Next steps?

  @GGrace

These days, TP-Link has gone away from PC Browsers for set-up. One needs a phone in most cases. Terther for Router's, Deco for Deco routers.

In some cases, the GUI on a Browser will still work, or support some or most of the settings. Depends on the unit.

I'll assume you never set the router up and are then using the DEFAULTS on the lable of the bacl of the router.

Using the Phone app, you can go to the Wireless settings, select the band and then see a * field for the P/W, but an 'eye' on the right side, if pressed will show the P/W. You can then edit it.

Here is your SETUP manual --> https://static.tp-link.com/upload/manual/2021/202110/20211027/7106509272_Archer%20AX3000(US)2.6_QIG_V1.pdf

It does state that you can use a Browser though?

  @GGrace Thanks - I did get the router set up. My problem was that I was reading the .pdf which does not mention the local host URL. However, the Quick Setup document that you captured above does have the 192.168 address right there in plain sight. The tplinkwifi.net link never worked, but the local host URL 192.168.0.1 did. An old Reddit post also referred to the 192.168 address.

Never mind, Reddit told me what to do. (But why didn't the documentation tell me???)

Is there any reason not to delete the tether app from my mobile devices? That just says there's no router.
