Model: Archer GE800
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version:

Hello, I was hoping someone could explain which firmware update to use. There are two options for download on the firmware page, one for V1 and one for V1.60.

On the shipping box of my new router, the version is 1.6. on the bottom of the router it is 1.6, but in the firmware webpage it states V1 for the version.

Do I simply use the V1 firmware since that is what it says on the management console directly on the router (via a web browser).

Thanks.

  @Emudaco2K

The D/L page shows this:

============

IMPORTANT:  Model and hardware version availability varies by region. Please refer to your TP-Link regional website to determine product availability.
Vx.0=Vx.6/Vx.8 (eg:V1.0=V1.6/V1.8)
Vx.x0=Vx.x6/Vx.x8 (eg:V1.20=V1.26/V1.28)
Vx.30=Vx.32 (eg:V3.30=V3.32)

============

Your version is 1.6 so you want the V1 version of the F/W.

Generally, the F/W checks the h/w version before installing. I'd suspect these to do the same.

If V1 doesn't install, I'd try the other.

Neither install, contact TP-Link Support via email.
